Age By Design: Medicare Update

If you have questions about Medicare or just want to learn more, join Carroll Harper as he talks about Medicare and answers your questions at an Age By Design talk at the Jesup Memorial Library on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 1:30 p.m.
 
Harper will give an overview of different Medicare plans including Part A, Part B, Part C and Part D. He will talk about the different kinds of Medicare including Medicare supplements, the different kinds of prescription drug plans and Medicare through private health plans. Also learn about the different enrollment periods and the eligibility requirements of each period. He will walk you through when and how to enroll in Medicare as well as the penalties of not enrolling. Finally, learn about the proposed bills at the state level that may impact you.
 
Harper has more four decades of experience in assisting individuals with their Medicare options. He has been active in State Legislature working with representatives to improve both Medicare and Long Term Care Insurance through meaningful legislation. He authors a quarterly newsletter for attorneys, accountants, financial planners and brokers on the subject of Medicare and Long Term Care Insurance.
 
Age by Design is a series of programs and community discussions that explore various facets of life for those older than 50 and create opportunities for community get-togethers. The programs are cosponsored by the Jesup, Island Connections, the YWCA MDI and the Mount Desert Island YMCA.
