Learn more about the two citizens’ initiatives that will be on the June 11, 2019 ballot in Bar Harbor at a discussion at the Jesup Memorial Library on Wednesday, May 22 at 7 p.m.
The two initiatives on the ballot are Article 4 “Only registered voters in the Town of Bar Harbor shall be permitted to vote on any appointed board, committee or commission.—Shall the above-described ordinance be enacted,” and Article 5 “LAND USE ORDINANCE AMENDMENT – Limits on Pier Length and Size of Berthed Cruise Ships – Shall an Ordinance entitled ‘An Amendment to the LUZO to Prohibit Berthing Piers for Large Cruise Ships’ be enacted?” Charles Sidman will do a presentation on what these two articles mean and what voters will be deciding. Following the presentation of each article there will be a panel discussion with members of the Planning Board, Warrant Committee, Ferry Terminal Visioning Committee, Cruise Ship Committee and the Communications and Technology Task Force. Finally, there will be time for questions from the audience.
