On July 23rd, Maestro Francis Fortier leads the Festival String Orchestra for the 16th Annual Bob Noonan Memorial Concert at the Criterion Theatre with piano soloist Kayoung An. Bob Noonan was a close friend of Maestro Fortier. Ms. An’s solo debut at the Festival was a huge success with the audience. She will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, K. 488. The beloved Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings is the complete second half of the concert. Also on the program is Mozart’s Divertimento K. 138, an energetic gem for strings, and the lush post-romantic Sinfonietta in A Major, Op. 168 by Anthony Louis Scarmolin. The Sinfonietta will be conducted by Festival Assistant Conductor and Concertmaster Jeffrey Ellenberger, thanks to a grant from the Anthony Louis Scarmolin Trust. This concert and all Festival piano events are made possible in part by a grant from the Rea Charitable Trust.
