Cars & Coffee: Electric Cars

This special Cars & Coffee features electric cars! Many are surprised to discover that the electric car is not a recent development; electric cars have been around since the 19th century. Show your Mach-E, Prius, Tesla, home built EV, or other marque of electric car alongside some of their predecessors from the Museum’s collection. Our Executive Director Ethan Yankura will discuss the history of electric vehicles throughout the morning, as well comparing gas, steam, and electric powered vehicles, highlighting vehicles from the museum’s collection. Cars & Coffee is an opportunity for drivers to showcase their specialty vehicles, and for auto enthusiasts and community members to peek under hoods, learn about the hobby, and enjoy a day at the Museum with a cup of coffee! All are welcome, with or without an antique or specialty vehicle, and all vehicles at all gatherings. Museum admission is free until 1:00 p.m. on show days! We suggest that you plan to arrive between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. for the greatest concentration of exhibitors! We are pleased to partner with Precipice Coffee, this fabulous zero emissions coffee roaster located right in Ellsworth provides the perfect partner for this great event! Additionally we will have light refreshments including fruit, juices, speciality donuts, and more- all free! Seal Cove is pleased to have both Universal and Tesla-specific EV chargers on site.
