The meal that Mainers ask for and savor. Enjoy a demonstration of the iconic Maine chowder and popovers. Popovers are a special bread that has been served for generations in Bar Harbor and are easy to make if you know the secrets. The type of chowder is dependent on the catch of the day and usually fish. The secrets of the base will give you many options for the types of chowder to make at home.
You may volunteer to assist the chef in front of the class or just enjoy watching. At the end of the class, you will have a taste of chowder, a hot popover and be given written recipes for chowder and popovers to be used at home to enjoy with your friends and family. The class lasts 2 ½ hours.
