Cyanotype, also called sun-printing, is an early photographic process that produces blue and white prints. During this 3 hour workshop, you’ll explore the beach below the Historical Society at low tide with Jennifer Booher, an artist, naturalist and historian with 25 years of experience in the local intertidal area. Jenn will answer your questions about shells, seaweed, and other tidal debris as you beachcomb, and you’ll learn the basics of the cyanotype process to make prints with your finds. The class is best suited for people 14 and older, and able to climb down a small hill to the beach. While this workshop is an introduction to cyanotype, all levels of experience are welcome to join. The shore is rocky and muddy, please wear appropriate shoes, bring sun protection, and water.
