Hood Ornament (Lalique Falcon) Carving Workshop at the Seal Cove Auto Museum

In this one-day class, we will make a wooden hood ornament carving of a falcon, based on a beautifully designed hood ornament created by the famous French artist Renee Lalique, who created an original version in art glass. The wooden hood ornament can be left as a carving in wood, or painted with chrome spray paint to approximate a metal finish. This class is an exciting collaboration between two Quietside museums. Steven Valleau, master carver at the Wendell Gilley Museum will lead the class, which will be held at the Seal Cove Auto Museum, whose collection inspired the class.
