Intro to Ballet Grades 3-5 with Makayla - May 2022?? Learn the basics of Ballet skills and vocabulary with instructor-led activities and fun movement-based games. This class consists of a gentle warm up followed by larger fun movements on the floor as we explore the use of momentum to guide us through traditional ballet exercises. Mondays 3:30pm to 4:30pm (arrive by 3:15pm to change out of shoes and coats and settle into class) ArtWaves 1345A Hwy 102 Bar Harbor To register: https://artwavesmdi.org/event-4785754 May 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd, 2022 Ages Third through Fifth Grade (parent/guardian should stay to observe) $50 for 4 sessions ($40 for members) Please wear socks or bring shoes that have not been worn outside. Bring ballet shoes if you have them! Bring water for breaks. Masks, vax'd (over 5yrs), and distancing (as possible) to keep all comfortable and safe. About the Instructor: Makayla Corrigan, is an artist and educator from Rhode Island. After spending a year studying illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design she moved to Mount Desert Island where she received a degree in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor in 2021. Makayla has spent most of her life studying ballet and contemporary dance along with illustration and food systems. She now lives on the island teaching art and dance at ArtWaves along with working closely with local farms as Farm Drop coordinator at Healthy Acadia
