Pack a lunch and join us for the second talk in our series with MCCF’s Dr. Josh Stoll.
The lobster sector faces an 80% cut in Atlantic herring (Clupea harengus) quota due to low spawning biomass. The sharp reduction in quota is expected to cause an acute bait shortage that could have major ramifications for fishermen, increasing the cost and ability to operate. This presentation explores how the lobster fishery is adapting to the shortage and considers what these solutions mean for the ecosystem and the iconic Maine lobster brand.Tell a Friend
