Interested in ways to recycle liquid from your natural dye bath to continue creating? New to natural dyeing and pigment making? All levels of experience are welcome! In this hands-on, one day outdoor workshop at the Naturalist’s Notebook, learn the process of creating handmade paint using plant pigments from exhausted natural dye baths with Katama Murray of Teach Peace Prints. Create beautiful, one of a kind pieces that can be admired forever, while taking time to slow down and appreciate the richness and diversity of color dwelling alongside us. Students will learn the basics of natural dyeing with shibori resist methods and dye a cotton bandana with Marigolds. Students will then learn how to extract powder pigments from a used dye bath to create paint, as well as methods for ink making.
