About Us

The Moorings Inn offers suites, singles, doubles, and cottages for your family vacation needs, located on the ocean with views of Mount Desert Island you wouldn't get anywhere else on the island! From our backyard, you can see Somes Sound surrounded by the Acadian mountains to the North, Southwest Harbor and the sunset to the West, and the open ocean and sunrise to the East.

We are a pet friendly historic inn with a rich history dating back to 1765. Amenities offered include a complimentary light continental breakfast for guests staying in the Main House in-season, complimentary wine and cheese nights for all guests in-season, wifi, private beach with lawn furniture/grills/fire pits, and a boat rental business right on site.
All our cottages have TV's, while our Main House focuses more on the beauty of our view--- however upon request a TV can be installed in your room should one be needed. Our Inn uses our windy ocean-side location and mild weather to its advantage, and we do not have AC on the property-- however all rooms have a fan in the rare case they are needed.
