BAR HARBOR, Maine – The National Park Service will replace culverts along Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park starting October 15. From October 15 through November 16, there will be a single-lane closure for all users of Park Loop Road between the start of the one-way section and Cadillac Summit Road. The one-way section of Park Loop Road will still be accessible. Visitors who have Cadillac Summit Road vehicle reservations should plan ahead and allow extra time to account for traffic delays.

Starting November 17, the section of Park Loop Road between the start of the one-way section and Cadillac Summit Road will be closed to all uses until further notice. The road will temporarily reopen to all uses between November 28-30.

Also starting November 17, there will be a temporary closure to all uses of Park Loop Road between the Jordan Pond north parking lot and Cadillac Summit Road to accommodate roadside repairs. Cadillac Summit Road will be inaccessible during this closure. The park expects to be able to temporarily reopen this section of Park Loop Road and Cadillac Summit Road to all uses from November 22-24 and November 28-30.

The park will implement its seasonal road closure and close Park Loop Road and Cadillac Summit Road to motor vehicles from December 1 to April 14.
