    PET OF THE WEEK

If you want us to stop posting Chips as Pet of the Week, come adopt her! This month marks one year of her coming into our care here at the SPCA-HC and while we know she has her quirks, she is the cream of the crop! We know her purrfect diva-cat-lover is just around the corner. You know those sweet, gentle senior cats that are just content with any  love and affections you have to offer? Well, Chips is not that gal. Chips is 12 years young and she knows what she wants (expects) at this point in life. Chips can be a little hot and cold when it comes to her desires… “Pet me - ugh, why on earth would you pet me?”, “Give me attention - no, not that way!”. You just need to accept the fact that you will never be in the right; that title is reserved for Miss Chip Dip. When you’ve taken the time to earn her respect, she will allow you the absolute honor and privilege of being her best friend. She will follow you around, and ring her butler bell (meow) for your attention. To absolutely no one’s surprise, Chips will not tolerate any other animals in the home. Chips is a smidge overweight and is on a diet to help get her to a comfier weight. She argued that she was storing up for winter, however, we were finally able to reassure her that she would be just fine. Our sweet diva queen also has a history of constipation, so she gets a scoop of Miralax in her food daily; since being given her Miralax daily, she has had no issues staying… regular. We would supply her adopter with a nice stockpile of her diet food and Miralax to get them started! Behind her sassy attitude is a loving, beautiful companion who just wants your time and love. She also comes with three stuffed fish, “The Fish Children”, that she lays on to “hatch”. The Fish Children are a required part of the adoption and must remain with Chips. If you believe Chips could tolerate you, please submit an adoption application on our website and come by the shelter to meet her Tuesday-Saturday from 12 to 4. She’ll be the one in the lobby cage meow-yodeling at everyone!
