    PET OF THE WEEK

Grizwold is our current oldest cat resident. He came to the SPCA-HC in October as a stray and in rough shape. Where he came from stray holding, we unfortunately do not know anything about his past, where he came from, and what his life has looked like. We do know that when he came into our care, he required a full shave to remove matting that was several inches deep which is why he has a handsome lion haircut. He doesn’t love it, but we think it looks dashing. With his senior age, Grizzy has some medical needs that his new home would need to be mindful of. He takes hyperthyroid medications twice a day which he happily eats wrapped in a treat. His medication is less than or around $10 per month. We also give him a raised dish to eat his senior wet and dry food to aid in digestion and lessen strain on his joints. We estimate that he is around 12 years old or older. He loves to be pet, but he does not enjoy being picked up. When he has to be picked up, he makes lots of angry cat noises but is all “bark” and no bite. He also does not enjoy the company of other animals so far at the shelter. We would love to see this gentleman in a calm, quiet home with lots of comfy snoozing spots. He is a sweet senior kitty who loves food, soft blankets, and chin scratchies.
