Pet of the Week: Saba (3/24/2025)
March 24, 2025PET OF THE WEEK
My name is Saba and if you’re not in love with me by the end of this, it will be a miracle. I am 22.2 lbs of pure love. Before you comment on that number, just know that when I arrived at the SPCA-HC, I was over 25 lbs… so I’ve been putting in the work! I’m a senior gentleman at 10 years old and it is especially important that I lose weight to keep my joints healthy and to be able to groom myself. Until I can get to that point, my purrson will need to feed me a prescription weight loss diet and pay special attention to my grooming needs. Don’t let the whole “prescription diet” thing scare you - you can get it right from Chewy and the shelter will send me home with some.
I am a very mellow, relaxed fellow. I love snuggling and am very tolerant of most things, even baths! I previously lived with other animals and didn’t mind. I know what you’re thinking… “Saba, you’re purrfect! Do you have a single flaw?”. I do have to confess that I sometimes mistake human fingers for chicken tenders and give them a nibble, but I promise they’re love bites, not angry bites. Do you think you could spare some room in your heart (and home) for a sweet senior? Come see me in the lobby of the SPCA-HC or read more about me here: https://www.spcahancockcounty.org/adopt/all-available-pets/
