• Tackling Bias in Healthcare: A Book Talk with Dr. Angela Marshall, MD, FACP

    Bar Harbor, Maine – The YWCA MDI and MDI Hospital are excited to present a special book talk and author reception featuring Dr. Angela Marshall, MD, FACP. The event will take place at the Jesup Memorial Library on October 3, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Attendees can join in person or virtually, with CME credit available for healthcare providers attending in person.

    The evening will begin with an author reception at 6:00 PM, followed by Dr. Marshall’s talk at 6:30 PM. She will discuss her book, "Dismissed: Tackling the Biases that Undermine Our Healthcare," exploring strategies to empower both patients and providers to create more equitable healthcare experiences.

    Dr. Marshall is a nationally recognized expert in women’s health, a board-certified internist, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. She is the founder of Comprehensive Women’s Health, a primary care practice for women in the Washington, D.C. area, and the immediate past chair of the Board of Directors for Black Women’s Health Imperative, the nation’s oldest nonprofit dedicated to advancing health equity for Black women.
